Morphometric characterization of Rastrococcus invadens on four varieties of mango trees (Pout, Thies)

Rastrococcus invadens (Homoptera, Pseudococcidae) or mealybug is an insect pest of mango and several other fruit trees including citrus. The cochineal native to Southeast Asia was first identified in Senegal Dakar 1995. Since then, it has been widely distributed throughout the country more particularly two most fruit-producing areas: Casamance Thies. To properly conduct our study, we chose four infested varieties namely Kent, Keitt, Sewe Boukodiekhal. All these populations are from locality Pout (Thies region). On each plant collected 10 people. This allowed us have a total 40 individuals. individuals harvested coded according zone type which they were harvested. study revealed almost less distinct morphometric groups made up on one hand by improved (Kent Keitt) those local (Sewe Boukodiekhal).
